I’ve had the good fortune to have a number of talented songwriters in my life. This compilation, my first album project, features some of my favorite songs by those remarkably talented friends. At the same time we were working together on this album, my experiences in Guatemala during the last years of that country’s cruel civil war changed the course of my life. The title track honors the incredibly talented weaving woman of Guatemala. They are gifted artisans who still today struggle mightily to preserve their ancient craft and provide for their families. I am in awe of their courage and fortitude.
